Nigerian singer TEMS (27) has had an incredible career since her debut in 2018. The singer started making music in 2018 and released her debut EP For Broken Ears in 2020, the success of the EP landed her a deal RCA Records and then dropped If Orange Was A Place in 2021. Tems vocals from her song Higher were sampled by American rapper Future for the first single off his 2020 album Wait for U which led to her being credited and featured as a vocalist on the track alongside Drake. The feature elevated the singers success as she became the first African artist to debut at number and the second Nigerian artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is however not the song that brought Tems international success as she featured on fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid’s 2020 hit single Essence which reached the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 and a feature on Drake’s album Certified Lover Boy on the song called Fountains.

In 2022 Tems real name Temilade Opeyini has had an amazing 2022 having won numerous international awards including the a Soul Train Award, an American Music Award, a BET award and recently scoring a nomination at the prestigious Golden Globes for her credit in Black Panther, Wakanda Forever soundtrack having written Lift Me Up a lead single for the highly successful box office hit and the song was recorded and performed by the Grammy award winning Rihanna.

Tems in nominated with Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson for Best Original Song. She took to social media to express her excitement being a first time Golden Globe nominee.
