AYRA STARR DROPS A MASTERPIECE SOPHMORE ALBUM

Nigerian born singer, songwriter Ayra Starr is certainly one of Africa’s biggest entertainment exports.

The Grammy nominated Afrobeats sensation who is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records released her chart topping debut album 19 and Dangerous at 2021 at just 19 years old.

The album featured her chart topping debut single aye, a follow up Bloody Samaritan which was later remixed with Destiny’s Child‘s Kelly Rowland co-signing the song with a feature and Rush, which became her global breakout hit, reaching over 100 million views on YouTube within 3 months and scored her her first Grammy nomination when the ‘Best African Music Perfomance’ category was introduced last year.

Her follow up offering being her sophomore studio album titled ‘The Year I Turn 21‘ showcases Ayras versetality as an artist as she taps into other genres like rnb, pop, amapiano blended with a perfect dose of Afrobeat.

Featured on this masterpiece is a lineup of amazing artists like Giveon, Coco Jones, Seyi Vibez, Anita and Milar.

Just days leading up to 2nd album release Mavin Records announced that the 21 year old singer has entered a partnership with Republic Records which also is home to artists like Anita, Drake, ZAYN and many other great artist. The deal will see republic partnering with Ayra and Mavin Records to distribute the album globally.

Ayra is nominated for 3 BET Music Awards this year including Best New Artist, Best International Artist and a BET HER Award for her hit single COMMAS.
