

South African TV and style icon Bonang Matheba is set to make her much anticipated come back to television, starting with her contribution as a celebration partner on the 3rd season of Miss SA’s reality series Crown Chasers and hosting the live crowning finale in August.
The pop culture icon has reportedly signed a deal with the SABC’s S3 to produce and star in her hit online reality series B* Dazzled which follows the entertainer as she shows viewers what goes on behind the scenes of biggest shows, looks, projects, personal life and running the House Of BNG empire while being one of the most famous and yet private stars in Africa.
B* Dazzled first launched in 2011, becoming the first online reality series by a South African celebrity which fans could watch through her website and as social media took over more viewers started to watch the show on YouTube, the show ran till 2016, making way to what would become one of the most iconic and influential pop culture moments, Being Bonang, the new reality show format series was aired on cable network 1 Magic (Formerly Vuzu Amp) and ran for 3 seasons before ending in 2019.
Bonang, who turned 37 this week is one of Africa’s best television hosts, if not thee best, she holds the record as the most awarded TV Presenter in Africa and has had the most exciting career highlights in pop culture including her breakout gig hosting SABC’s music show LIVE, which made her a household name and went on to host Top Billing, and prestigious global events live the Global Citizen 100 event, MTV Mamas, AMVCA’s, BET Global Glits and Glam red carpet, The TIME Magazine 100 Gala Dinner and more.

In 2022 Bonang suprised her fans when she revived the show with the title B* Dazzled – Reload, and it became an instant hit before ending after just 4 episodes in 2023 and also appeared on the latest season of Netflix’s hit show Young, Famous and African.
In 2012 when Bonang joined Top Billing, the tripled the shows viewership, in 2019 her 2 part docu-series A Very Bonang Year premiered on SABC 1 and became the highest rated celebrity reality show on the networks history and last year she recorded the most watched live show finale accross all channels and highest rated Miss SA finale in history.
Even though there’s no official date for the shows debut, I’ll definitely remain seated for it.
